The end of Corona 19, which posed a global threat, will not be long away.
U.S. pharmaceutical company Pfizer has made significant progress in ending Covid19. The Covid vaccine, which is under development with Pfizer and Germany's Bioentech, has been shown to be effective.
Pfizer announced on the 9th (local time) that after analyzing 94 patients who were infected with corona19 among the participants in phase 3 clinical trials, their vaccines were more than 90 percent effective in preventing covid19. A total of 43,000 people applied for Pfizer clinical trials.
Pfizer divided clinical trial participants into two groups. One group was given a corona19 vaccine. Other groups were given placebo (fake medicine).
According to the results, 94 confirmed cases have been found in the two groups so far. Among them, only less than 10 percent were vaccinated. More than 90 percent of confirmed cases from clinical trials were from experimental groups with placebo injections.
"We are one step closer to helping end the global crisis," said CEO Bula Pfizer. "We will release additional data on the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine within a few weeks."
Pfizer plans to ask the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for approval.
Meanwhile, the Russian government also said that the Russian-developed Covid vaccine 'Sputnik V' has more than 90 percent efficacy.
Oksana Drafkina, director of the Institute under the Russian Ministry of Health, said in a statement, "The effectiveness of this vaccine is more than 90 percent. The emergence of another effective vaccine is good news for everyone."
