브레이크뉴스 박동제 기자= 검찰이 ‘상습 마약 투약’ 혐의를 받는 배우 유아인(본명 엄홍식)에 대한 구속영장을 재청구했다.
18일 서울중앙지검 강력범죄수사부(부장검사 신준호)는 유아인과 지인 최모 씨에 대해 마약류관리에관한법률위반(향정), 증거인멸교사, 범인도피 혐의 등으로 구속영장을 청구했다. 이는 지난 5월 첫 번째 구속영장이 기각된 지 약 4개월 만이다.
검찰에 따르면, 유아인은 지난 2020년부터 서울 일대 병원에서 미용 시술 목적의 수면마취를 빙자해 약 200회, 약 5억원 상당의 프로포폴 등 의료용 마약류를 상습적으로 매수·투약한 것으로 조사됐다. 또 타인 명의로 수면제 약 1000정을 불법적으로 처방받아 투약한 혐의도 받는다.
더불어 유아인은 최모 씨 등 4명과 함께 미국에서 코카인·대마 등 마약류를 투약한 혐의도 받는다.
앞서 서울경찰청 마약범죄수사대는 수사 과정에서 유아인에 대한 구속영장을 신청했지만, 법원은 “범행과 관련된 증거들이 이미 상당수 확보돼 있고, 피의자도 기본적 사실관계 자체는 상당 부분 인정하고 있다. 대마 흡연을 반성하고 있고, 코카인 사용은 일정 부분 다툼의 여지를 배제할 수 없어 방어권을 보장할 필요가 있다고 보인다”며 이를 기각했다. 이에 경찰은 지난 6월 9일 유아인과 최모 씨를 불구속 송치했다.
이후 검찰은 보완수사를 통해 유아인이 의료용 마약류 관련 수사 과정에서 지인에게 증거인멸을 지시하거나, 미국 현지에서 일행에게 대마 흡연을 강요한 정황을 추가로 적발했다. 최모 씨에 대해서도 유아인의 범행을 은폐하기 위해 공범을 해외로 도피시기거나 관련 공범에게 진술을 번복하도록 회유·협박한 혐의를 확인해 구속영장을 청구했다.
